Urban Folk is a shawl that combines knitting and crochet. Garter stitch and grannys, the perfect mix to start knitting and crocheting and have fun! 
We start by crocheting a series of grannys that we assemble together to form the border. Then we pick up stitches along the grannys to knit the central part in garter stitch with a set of shortened rows and decreases. We therefore have fewer and fewer stitches. You can also add fringes.
 
LEVEL: beginner 1/3
 
SIZES: 214 X 64 cm. 
 
GAUGE: 21 sts x 32 rows for 4 x 4’’ or 10 x 10 cm in garter st with 4 mm/US 6.
Granny squarre measure approximately 8.5 X 8.5 cm
 
YARN: this shawl is knitted with two strand of fingering and lace weight yarn. Approximately 875 yards or 800 m of each yarn. 
 
NOTIONS: needles sizes 4 mm/US 6, hook n° 4/US G, tapestry needle, cable to hold live stitches and 4 stitches markers removables.
 
NOTES: the pattern is knitted in MSW (100 % merino SW - 100g = 400 m) and KMS (kid mohair soie - 50g = 420 m) from Yarn By Simone color for C1 and .
