BELEM is a sailor-style collar designed to be worn as a layering piece over shoulders, sweaters, shirts, and jackets.
 
It comes with two-point-lengths option finished with i-cords.
An optional long-pont version allows it be worn like a faux sweater with ends tied in front.
The lace stitch requires concentration but is easy to knit (knit stitches, purl stitches, yarn overs, decreases). Instructions are provided both written and as a chart.
 
 
Techniques:  standard cast-on and bind-off, decreases, and yarn over.

The model is shown in size 1 with a total height of 20.5 - 15.75 inches / 52 - 40 cm.

YARN: this pattern is knitted with one strand of DK weight yarn.
Approximately 140 - 155 yards or 125 - 140 m e.i. 1 - 1 skein. 
 
 
MATERIALS: suggested circular needles or DPNs sizes 3 mm/US 2.5 (icord) and circular needles 4 mm/US 6 80 cm (32 inches), eventually cable for putting stitches on hold and a tapestry needle.
 
NOTE: The long point version is knitted using Damya(55% hemp, 45 % organic coton – 100 g = 170 m) from Natissea color écru.
The short point version is knitted Linaé (95% French linen, 5 % coton – 100 g = 190 m) from Natissea color écru.
