Majorelle is knitted from top to bottom seamlessly.

We start by knitting the double collar then we continue with cable raglan yoke and shortened rows to slightly hollow out the neckline. The body (back and front) is then worked together in the round with cables continuing down to the bottom. The sleeves are worked in the round.

Finished bust circumference approximately: 41 (43.25 - 45) 47.25 (50.5 - 54.25) 58 (60.5 - 63) inches or 104 (110 - 115) 120 (126 - 130) 141 (150 - 160) cm.

Recommended ease: 4 to 8 inches or 10 to 20 cm of positive ease. To pick your best size, measure your full bust and add your desired ease, then pick the finished bust circumference closest to that number.

Sample is shown in size 3 with 7 inches or 18 cm of positive ease.

 

GAUGE: 21 sts x 28 rows for 4 x 4 inches or 10 x 10 cm in st st with larger needles.

 

YARN: this sweater is knitted with two strands of yarn: a fingering weight and a lace weight held together.

Approximately approx 1100 (1250 - 1320) 1450 (1600 - 1850) 2060 (2270 - 2450) yards or 1005 (1140 - 1200) 1330 (1460 - 1700) 1880 (2100 - 2400) m of each yarn.

If you prefer, you can knit this sweater with only one strand of a DK weight yarn.

 

NOTIONS: needles sizes 3 mm/US 2.5 and 3.5 mm/US 4 (rib) and 4 mm/US 6 (body and sleeves) 80 cm/32 inches, tapestry needle, cable to hold live stitches, 8 stitch markers.

 

NOTES: the pattern is knitted using MKMN (55% merinos sw, 20 % kid mohair, 25 % nylon – 400m = 100g) and KMS (72 % kid mohair, 28 % silk – 420 m = 50g) from Yarn by Simone color Blue Hotel.
